Canvas & Peach

Photographing another photographer’s wedding is slightly nerve-wracking as you really want to do a good job, but you’re so flattered that they picked you and love your work! That’s how it felt for us with Ally & Scott tying the knot at the den at Culross, a new beautiful barn venue on the scene and we LOVED the relaxed wedding day.

Photographing preparations for the wedding day took place in two different locations, the girls at the den at Culross and the boy’s at home in Coatbridge. We loved how relaxed prep was, which was totally down to the fact that Ally knew the timings inside out being a wedding photographer herself, and wanted to have a relaxed morning, it also helped that she knew most of her suppliers really well, which also made things go a bit smoother and also gave her a reassuring feeling that she knew everyone was doing their best.

Following into the day, we loved how relaxed everything felt, even during their ceremony, Alan Barr conducting it was relaxed, informal, funny, and emotional, with personalized vows taking place that were so emotional (We would highly recommend writing your own vows if you can!) We also loved the group photographs time period, which thankfully stayed dry and we managed to capture all of these outside in the courtyard, at no point was this stressful, and Ally and Scott enjoyed chatting and mingling whilst doing their photographs making for an excellent atmosphere, topped with a saxophone player playing too just was the cherry on top of the cake.

We loved photographing Ally & Scott during their couple time, both of them were supernatural, and really enjoyed having that time away in the field getting a few cute photographs. Later on, we also managed to sneak out to the courtyard to get the fairy lights and also capture a few dusk photographs with some smoke bombs too, which is a staple of Ally’s from her dancing photos.

We loved the relaxed feel at the Den at Culross, the staff are amazing and really looked after you the entire day and everything flows so smoothly, especially with them having a separate barn for their evening which is HUGE and perfect for the party.

If you are thinking about getting married at the den, give us a little message and we can talk more about your day.
