Canvas & Peach

When we first met up with Ellie & Greg we knew the kindness that came out of them would shine into their wedding day and we loved their relaxed city vibe day with a combination of Glasgow University and then walking down to Ashton Lane where there was a street party on and them totally embracing it, to getting the subway to their venue which was Sloans. They really mixed the traditional with the untraditional and it totally worked in contrasting beauty for their day.

We loved Ellie’s location of bridal prep with an airy bright look and in such a cute little Airbnb we had such an awesome time photographing her details. When looking for a place to get ready, think about places we can photograph your details, the light that’s going to be around you (not just us but for getting ready it’s important to see what you are doing or if you are having hair/makeup teams they will need extra light!) Thinking about your space means that when we do turn up there will be lots of awesome locations and areas that we can use for your photographs. In the morning we kept bridal prep super relaxed as a few family members were a little nervous getting photographs, so we kept it really stripped back and focused on the simple little moments of the morning, we actually loved how relaxed this was, and made us really appreciate the little moments.

Onto the chapel, it’s always a great idea if you have travel in your morning to have the photographer who is in bridal prep to get in the car with the person that is coming last to the ceremony, for example in this scenario it was Ellie, so I traveled with her and her dad to the venue in a black cab. This means that we don’t have to leave prep super early to get parked and can mean we can photograph every step of the way telling a story to your day. Of course, we know this isn’t always possible however it does make things a lot smoother and easier for the day ahead.

We loved how epic the cathedral is at the uni and how many photographs you can get with different angles and the cloisters give you great shelter if it’s a rainy day for your groups. Thankfully this pair had a lovely day and we could take our time with candids and lovely moments unfolding in front of us before we started their group photographs.

We had a little chat with Ellie & Greg before the day about their couple photoshoot and they both loved the idea of walking down to Ashton Lane and then getting the subway to Sloans, we had so much fun going through the street party in the lane, grabbing a fresh orange juice and then heading to Sloans was so much fun with many people stopping and saying congratulations.

The party commenced into the evening, there were tears, laughter, dancing, and many hugs! We had such an awesome day and can’t thank this pair enough for all that they did for us. I however will take an oath to never climb that many stairs when pregnant again haha!
