Canvas & Peach

Last year we were lucky enough to go along to the wedding of Katy and Loyd at Dalduff farm which is such a cool venue down in Ayrshire. The little relaxed barn and the awesome reception area are wonderful places to hang out on your wedding day with your guests. We also loved how both parties got ready on site during the day as this meant they could both relax and enjoy the build up. Everything was also decorated personally with the couple adding little details of their personality to the venue.

What we love about venues like this is you can make them so personable. We loved that Katy and loyd made a lot of their details personally, especially their little wooden palette that had Caledonia lyrics wrote on it! Such a cute idea.

Katy and Loyd had a big wedding party which was so fun as we got to take a good few bridal/grooms portraits at the break, we even popped on some spice girls for the gals to dance away during this! If you want a fun drinks reception a top tip we always like to say is give yourself two hours AT LEAST for this time period to mingle with guests, have some canopies and take your photos at a nice pace. Any less time than this and your going to be stressed, cramming in the photos, have no mingling time and probably have a tiny bite of those beautiful canopies you selected.

We also worked with such an awesome video team during the day, Sole Productions – it’s always great to have a videographer on your wedding day as the day goes so quickly and I know that I didn’t really take in our speeches on my own day, so having a video to listen back to the day and see the moments play out is just as important as photography! We loved finishing the evening off on a beautiful sunset with Chas and James and Katy and Loyd running around the field capturing the beautiful golden hour, we probably, however, would like to all forget how scary the horse was right at the end when it nearly charged at heather… top tip avoid fields with livestock in them 🙈

All in all, it was such an epic day, and as you can see from the photographs lots of fun was to be had on this beautiful summer’s day. If you haven’t booked your venue yet Dalduff farm is up there with one of our favs!
